Any cancellations must be made by 3.00pm local time, 24 hours prior to scheduled arrival to avoid the penalty of one night's room charge. In the event of a no-show, you will be charged for one room night..

Guarantee Policy

All reservations require a guarantee or prepaid deposit. Methods that are accepted as a guarantee include: credit card or debit card, cash deposit or Merchant Gift Card.

Pet and Guide Dog Policy

Guide dogs only permitted, advance notice must be given.

Age & Dress Code Policy

Each department of the hotel has a dedicated age policy and dress code. Please contact the hotel directly if you require further information.

Child Supplements

Available on a per night B&B rate as shown below. Child supplements are subject to room type and availability and must be pre-booked:

0 to 4 years - complimentary
5 to 11 years - £20 per child
12 to 17 years - £40 per child

Cots

We are delighted to provide cots for children up to two years of age with our compliments.

Credit Card Pre-Authorisation

Crown Merchant Hotel reserves the right to ask for a pre-authorisation at check-in for the total accommodation stay, plus a deposit for incidentals.

What is a Pre-Authorisation?

A pre-authorisation will place the requested amount in a holding state and temporarily reduce the holder’s credit limit. This is NOT a transaction charge. All charges should be settled in full upon departure.

Competitions Policy

If you wish to offer an experience at Crown Merchant Hotel as a prize, please contact the Marketing department by emailing marketing@crownmerchanthotel.uk.

Please note that if you do not agree your competition in advance with the Marketing department, you may be asked to remove your Merchant prize with immediate effect. Third party use of Merchant branding without hotel authorisation is prohibited.

Gift Cards and E-Vouchers

Monetary gift cards and e-vouchers have no expiry date*. E-voucher 'experiences' are valid for 12 months from date of purchase. Thereafter they will convert into their monetary equivalent and a supplement may apply to match the price of the experience at the time of redemption. *Please note after 7 years from date of purchase, due to financial handling procedures, all gift card and e-voucher information will be expunged, and the voucher will be invalidated.

Monetary vouchers can be redeemed for goods and services throughout Crown Merchant Hotel excluding Pride and Pinion and Art Loves. Specific experience vouchers must be used for the purpose intended, for example a spa treatment. Room reservations must be made directly with the hotel and the gift card number stated at the time of booking.

Monetary vouchers can be used as full or part payment. No change will be given. Any residual balance will be transferred to a Hotel Gift Voucher Card and will then be valid for 1 year from the date which the transfer occurred. Vouchers are non-refundable. Crown Merchant Hotel reserves the right to cancel the card if we deem such action necessary. The hotel and In 1 Solutions will not be held liable for vouchers which have been lost or stolen. Electronic vouchers may not be redeemed within 7 days from date of purchase.
